Wireless Motion Alarms are very popular units because they are easy to install and will detect both vehicles and people walking. The radio operated drive alarm consists of 2 parts; a transmitter and a bell-receiver with 1 bell. The bell receiver can be located in your house and plugged into a standard wall outlet. The weather proof outside transmitter, operated by a 9 volt battery that normally lasts 6 months to a year, should be located in the area of your driveway. This transmitter sends out an invisible beam approximately 80 feet. The beam may be pointed in any direction since there is no receiver needed at the end of the beam. If a vehicle or person enters this area, the transmitter, which detects motion, will send a radio signal up to 600' back to the bell receiver in the house. This in turn rings a small bell for approximately 3 seconds to alert you and then shuts off automatically. In the event that you do not want the bell to ring at any particular time, the bell-receiver is equipped with an on-off switch.

The small transmitter (approximately 4" by 4") can be mounted on a tree, post, building, etc, up to 80 feet back from your driveway. It should be mounted about 3 feet high to allow small animals to walk in the area without being detected. The transmitter will detect large animals, such as deer, but is not bothered by the motion of trees and shrubs.

Several transmitters can be used with the same bell receiver. For example, if you have 2 driveways, or you may want a transmitter in the garage, shop, backyard, or even in the house, if you are concerned about an intruder. You can also have different bell receivers in different locations of the house or other buildings. Each bell-receiver comes standard with 1 bell.

The wireless drive alarm can be part of a security system. For example, if you're on vacation, the transmitter can be moved into the house with the beam directed through a central area. If someone enters the house, the bell-receiver has the ability to turn on lights, ring loud bells, sirens, activate a telephone tape dialer, etc.
